Warnock's Dilemma, vernoemd naar z'n bedenker Bryan Warnock, geeft meer inzicht in de vraag waarom soms toch niemand de moeite neemt om te reageren op een bericht op bijvoorbeeld een forum of weblog. Het hoeft niet noodzakelijk te betekenen dat niemand is geinteresseerd in het onderwerp. De vijf redenen volgens Warnock zijn:

• The post is correct, well-written information that needs no follow-up commentary. There's nothing more to say except 'Yeah, what he said.' 
• The post is complete and utter nonsense, and no one wants to waste the energy or bandwidth to even point this out.
• No one read the post, for whatever reason.
• No one understood the post, but won't ask for clarification, for whatever reason.
• No one cares about the post, for whatever reason.

Een echt dilemma is het natuurlijk niet aangezien een dilemma een keuze is tussen 2 oplossingen welke beide niet optimaal zijn. Denk hierbij aan het prisoners dilemma; zwijgen of bekennen.
